Spring and Sports

We kicked off our weekend with a grand slam of two new bikes for our growing guys. Love that you can buy built bikes at Toys R Us, they literally rode them out of the store! Opening day fesivities for T-Ball were a huge success! kudos to the many volunteers who made it so special for the boys! Soccer for A was sunny and speedy, man that boy has some wheels on him. His coach kept remarking about how fast he was and he just beamed and ran faster. T-Ball practice was finished off with frozen yogurt at Sweet Frogs with the team making everyone happy. Sunday was a day of riding bikes and playing outside. L is loving his gold bike and quite good at racing around. I predict A will be riding full time without training wheels by then end of the month. We have the the Strider balance bike to thank for that. The first day with his big boy bike he was pedaling away unassisted without training wheels! Once he masters turning around he is free sailing! As all good things the weekend ended and we all went back to the "real world" for a much less exciting and fun Monday.

School Counseling Office

So this past summer J. and I painted my new space at school in preparation for the new school year.  It turned out so great and the kids absolutely love putting their handprints on the tree as a culminating activity for small group or individual work.  Over the years we will be adding flowers (friendship), clouds (worry), and even raindrops (grief groups) as my students complete this work of art.  Most days I LOVE my job and on days that I don't I LOVE seeing their handprints and knowing that tons of learning and growth is happening all around me.

Group Area, Bibliotherapy, and our Desks- The trees are connected by clothesline to display student work!

Road Trip and Restaurants

So we are taking this ridiculous, crazy, amazing road trip this summer with my five guys (2 boys, hubby, Papa, and Grandpa).  We will be traveling across the country visiting just about every major natural landmark between DC and Cali and back again.  So on a whim I decided to see if Five Guys and/or Texas Roadhouse would be willing to provide some financial backing for this crazy endeavor.  My mama taught me it never hurts to ask so we'll see...
